June/July SLANT Box

I was super excited when I came across Jameson's blog Lessons with Coffee and her wonderful SLANT Box (Sending Love Across the Nation to Teachers). I decided I would sign up and see what happened and let me tell you I am so glad I did!!

This month’s theme was SUNSHINE, which I definitely was happy about. Jameson paired me with two wonderful educators. I sent a box to Jane (Learning in the Little Apple). I spent a lot of time thinking about the theme and what to put in it and really hope she loved her box. Then Cassie (Funky in Fourth) sent me a box. I have really enjoyed getting to know both of these ladies over the past month. This whole blogging thing has introduced me to so many new people, and I am so glad!!!
So, I bet you want to know what I got!!! After waiting patiently (my husband would disagree) the box arrived this morning. Yes, I made Chris stop everything he was doing and bring me the box since I am keeping my friends wonderful kids! Well 2 little girls were all interested in what I got. I opened the box and took all my wonderful goodies out!!! (Sorry in advance for the pictures being sideways. Technology and I are not getting along today.)

Who doesn't love a good surprise?

I was so happy with all the wonderful things Cassie sent me. I can't wait to hang my T up in my classroom! I also can't wait to use my pretty note cards and wear my new jewelry! Thanks Cassie for all the awesome goodies!!!

So, I will be doing SLANT box again!! If you want to join in on the love it is too late for August but September sign ups will be here before you know it. Just click the link below to get all the information.

Highs and lows

We all have those times that things are awesome and then things are not so awesome. Sometimes it’s big things and sometimes small. Well I am linking up with Julie at A First for Everything to share a little look into my highs and lows of the week.

High
I have been working out this week. It has been really good. Being able to go get an hour at the Y in has just made me feel better. I plan to keep going at it like this at least a few times a week. I like getting up in the morning feeling muscles I didn’t know I had!

Low
Seeing everyone posting about conferences that they have been to or are going to this year has made me feel low this week. I loved going in college when they were free, or very cheap, but until the hubby finishes school conferences just aren’t on the table. I however am hoping I can figure out how to get together enough money to go to the math conference near my home that isn’t too pricy.

Overall it has been a good week. Everyone is happy and healthy and things are running right! I hope everyone has an awesome weekend. Why don't you click on over a share a high and low?

New Things!!!

I have now added social media buttons to my blog. I also am now on Facebook. I am working really hard to make this blog interesting and useful. I am hoping as the school year begins I will have a better insight to what to write about other than cute toolboxes. I have enjoyed writing this blog and hope to watch it grow more and more in the coming months. Feel free to follow me on Facebook, Bloglovin’, Pinterest, and TPT.

Also, you can click the little letter and email me. Would love to know what you would like to read about, or if you have ideas/wants for things for me to create for TPT!

Much Love,
Lena

Book Talk Tuesday

I am linking up with Deanna from Mrs. Jump’s Class this morning for Book Talk Tuesday!

I came across this books a few years back and really love it and so do students. It is called Jack and the Dragon! I am lucky enough to autographed copy!

This book is about Jack, his brothers and a dragon. Jack's brothers like to take advantage of Jack and make him do all the work while they go play.

Well, while his brothers are gone a dragon keeps coming and eating all the food Jack makes.
Finally, Jack follows the dragon when it leaves and ends up down a well.

He finds a princess and treasure but he has to fight the dragon to save her.

He is successful, but his brothers have one more trick up their sleeves. However, Jack wins in the end!

They all live happily ever after!

I love this book and there are a couple other Jack adventure books out there also. I also like that it is an Appalachian Folktale. I will be reading this to my 4th graders this year since we learn all about North Carolina! You can get your copy here~~~>Jack and the Dragon

Hope everyone has an awesome day!
